From 1st January 2024, it is mandatory for all operators to transmit the tracks regarding the export goods and transport in digital format through the Smart City of Goods, Malpensa Cargo City digital ecosystem, pursuant to the provisions of the latest edition of the Malpensa Airport Regulations.

There are now over 270 operators, such as airport handlers, freight forwarders, customs agents, off-airport handlers, and haulers, who have joined the project and are already sending data through the ecosystem.

Malpensa Smart City of Goods consists of a network of ICT-based services that allows all the players in the supply chain to use, integrate and share information of their interest in the air cargo treatment cycle departing from Milan Malpensa. The ecosystem is available to all the operators in the air cargo community who directly or indirectly operate at Malpensa airport. They can connect through their own IT systems or by logging in the web portal. The use is completely free of charge.

The platform works with the logic of the digital ecosystem in which some individuals enter data, others complete it with additional information and make it available to interested users.
