The digital transition of Malpensa air cargo presented at Assolombarda

The seventh edition of “Shipping, Forwarding & Logistics Meet Industry” titled “Logistics and production in the age of uncertainty” took place on February 22nd and 23rd at Centro Congressi Assolombarda in Milan.
The meeting allowed the participants - representatives of institutions, companies and associations - to discuss the direction to give to the development of the Italian logistics and production system so that it can contribute to the recovery of the growth of the economic and social system, in a context, also geopolitical, more and more complicated.
In particular, during the panel "Companies and air cargo" SEA presented the process of digitalization of Malpensa air cargo processes. The new digital functions under test, developed within the European FENIX Project, were illustrated. Among these, the new Customs Fast Transfer service, launched in December 2022 on a trial basis, represents an important opportunity to increase the system's capacity and to make the airport more attractive and competitive on an international level.
Malpensa Cargo City, thanks to the implementation of new applications connected to the Smart City ecosystem of goods, can be considered a best practice model for the digital development of the entire national air cargo sector, in line with the targets of the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).
